The secular world does not like to hear that you work for Jesus. “The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing”. There is a silent assumption (until proved wrong) that Christians do not have what it takes to lead with savvy and aplomb. Your loyalties are in question because your master is not the job or the salary. Your carrot cannot be measured simply in terms of year-end bonus or awards.

The pressure on you from both sides is intense. You want and value results and performance, and you want to live according to the direction of the Word.
